St. Patrick's Old Cathedral

The Gothic Revival style cathedral constructed between 1809-15 was designed by Joseph-François Mangin and was superseded in 1879 as the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York by the new St. Patrick's Cathedral. St. Patrick's Old Cathedral, which was named a minor basilica by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010, is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Scenes from "The Godfather," "The Godfather Part III" and "Mean Streets" were filmed here.
