Old Faithful

This natural wonder located in Upper Geyser Basin is certainly the most famous geyser in Yellowstone National Park and possibly the world with its eruptions occurring every 60-110 minutes spewing from 3,700-8,400 gallons of hot water anywhere from 106-184 feet in the air. Old Faithful was named during the Washburn Expedition of 1870 because of its predictability of eruptions that can last as long as five minutes. The nearby U.S. National Historic Landmark Old Faithful Inn and other unique structures are located within the Old Faithful Historic District.
