Hanamaulu Bay
Situated on Kauai's east shore, the beaches around this bay are popular for camping and picnicking as Hanamaulu Beach State Park offers a playground, pavilion, picnic tables, barbecue grills, showers and restrooms. Hanamaulu Bay, which has calm waters, is near the Lihue Airport and the Hanamaulu Stream runs into the bay. The bay and its Ahukini Pier were in the John Wayne movie "Donovan's Reef."
