The Boulevard Haussmann location serves as the flagship store of the Galeries Lafayette enterprise, which now operates retail venues in Berlin, Casablanca, Jakarta, Dubai, Beijing and Milan. The department store's weekly fashion show always draws a large crowd, but it's the the Art Nouveau building with its intricate ironwork, stained-glass windows and 141-foot high dome that steals the show. There's even a rooftop terrace commanding stunning views of the city below. To relieve those inevitable hunger pangs, head to the Lafayette Gourmet food court. There's so much to see and do, in fact, you may have to set aside some time for the main activity: shopping.
