Coco Palms Resort

This Polynesian paradise that opened in 1953 was made famous in the Elvis Presley 1961 film "Blue Hawaii" and featured a coconut grove of 2,000 trees, lagoons, a conch shell-blowing doorman and a nightly torch lighting custom. Coco Palms Resort was ravaged by Hurricane Iniki in 1992 and has remained closed since. The history of this Kauai landmark lives on in memories and movie scenes.
