Charles Bridge

This world famous pedestrian-only bridge is the most iconic and recognizable structure in Prague, one in which thousands of visitors and locals alike cross every day. The Charles Bridge, which spans the River Vltava, dates back to 1390 and was where St. John of Nepomuck was thrown over the side at the behest of King Wenceslas IV. Today it is a place where hawkers sell their wares and street musicians perform under the row of baroque statues that line both sides of the bridge.
