Baha'i House of Worship

This nine-sided temple in Wilmette, Illinois is one of only seven Baha'i Houses of Worship around the world. Baha'i House of Worship opened in 1953 near Chicago overlooking Lake Michigan after a long campaign by supporter Corinne True. It has a welcome center, an auditorium, gardens and daily prayer service. The temple's Cornerstone Room features the cornerstone laid by Abdu’l-Baha in 1912. Baha'i is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
