Aquatic Park

This bay side park created from 1936-39 near Hyde Street Pier is within the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park and is itself also a U.S. National Historic Landmark District. Aquatic Park's San Francisco Maritime Museum Building was originally built in 1936 as a bathhouse. The recreation area also features a beach, man-made lagoon, a concession stand, a sea wall and a pier. Members of the nearby Dolphin Club often swim in the chilly waters.
