Summary of The Day: After flying from your hometown to Quito, you'll transfer to the hotel. With no tours planned for the day, you'll be free to relax.
Summary of The Day: After breakfast we'll visit the Guapulo Church. Next we'll travel onward to the historic center of Quito to tour La Plaza Grande, Carondelet Palace (the Presidential Palace), La Catedral Metropolitana, El Sagrario, La Companía, San Francisco, Santo Domingo, and the statue El Pancecillo. Then we'll continue on to arrive at the Mitad del Mundo monument, also known as the Middle of the World. This monument is located at latitude 0 00' 00'' which marks the geodesic position of the Equator, a wonderful opportunity to be in two hemispheres at the same time.
Summary of The Day: After breakfast we'll travel south via the Avenue of the Volcanoes to reach Cotopaxi National Park and the base of the Cotopaxi Volcano, the highest active volcano in the world. Then we'll visit the Limpiopungo lakes and paramo grasslands, which are the Ecuadorian equivalent of the arctic tundra. From there we'll continue on to Banos, the town famous for subtropical thermal baths that are heated by the Volcano Tungurahua.
Summary of The Day: In the morning we'll travel southwest to tour the amazing waterfalls of Agoyan and Devil's Cauldron. Next, we'll heads towards the Amazon Jungle and arrive the shore of Ecuador’s majestic Napo River which also neighbors eastern slopes of the Andes Mountains. There we'll check in at La Casa del Suizo, a tranquil Amazonian lodge perched comfortably above the riverbank and overlooking vast expanses of the surrounding tropical rain.
Summary of The Day: From La Casa del Suizo we'll explore the Ecuadorian Amazon. All excursions at La Casa del Suizo will be led by a native guide with expert knowledge of the rain forest. There are a variety of and activities to choose from: hikes through primary rainforest, walks along river islands, take canoe ride along the Napo River or one of its many tributaries; visit with a local Quichua Indian family, or try to build a wooden rafter to navigate the river.
Summary of The Day: After breakfast you'll be free to relax or explore the area at your leisure. In the afternoon we'll return to Quito.
Summary of The Day: We'll have one last breakfast in Quito before transferring to the airport for your departure flight.
