Day 01
Pinnacles Desert

Perth - Kalbarri

Hotel: Big River Ranch or similar

After being picked up from your hotel, our first stop will be the impressive Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park. You’ll enjoy a fully guided tour through these amazing limestone formations and drop in at the Discovery Centre before we have lunch by the sea. After a quick stop in the town of Geraldton it will be on to Big River Ranch for some true blue Aussie hospitality and our overnight stay.

Day 02
Monkey Mia

Kalbarri - Shark Bay - Monkey Mia

Hotel: Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort or similar

We will visit the marvels of The Murchison Gorge, Natures Window and Z-Bend in Kalbarri National Park. Here you will have the option to try abseiling into the gorge! If conditions allow us, we will cool off with a swim in the Murchison River before we’re back on the bus travelling north to Shell Beach and Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort for our accommodation.

Day 03
Monkey Mia

Shark Bay - Coral Bay

Hotel: Blue Reef Backpacker or similar

The morning of day 3 we will meet the famous Monkey Mia Dolphins and get some amazing photos. Then join us on an optional 1 hour wild life sail, hire a Kayak and go for a paddle, chill out on the beach or at the resort. Then it will be back on the road mid-morning we visit the breathing rock formations, the Stromatolites, before settling in to our accommodation in Coral Bay, located right on the famous Ningaloo Reef.

Day 04
Exmouth

Coral Bay - Exmouth

Day 4 is yours to enjoy the many great tours and activities Coral Bay has to offer, with special discounts available. Go for a stroll on the beach and check out the shark nursery, swim with the manta rays, hang out at the local or go for a snorkel on the Ningaloo Reef only meters from shore. On this evening we take the short drive up the peninsular to Exmouth and check in to our accommodation.

Day 05

Exmouth

We will spend exploring Cape Range National park, a spectacular place of rugged limestone ranges, breathtaking deep canyons and 50km of pristine beaches. Experience snorkelling at the stunning Turquoise Bay, visit Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, relax at Milyearing Visitors Centre and more before we return to our accommodation late afternoon.

Day 06
Karijini National Park

Exmouth - Karijini National Park

Wake up early on day 6 as we will travel east through station country and stop at Tom Price, the highest town in Western Australia, for supplies. Then we will head to the amazing Karijini National Park where we will stay at the multi award winning Karijini Eco Retreat in Eco Safari Tents with your own verandah, quality beds, linen and hot showers.

Take plenty of time to explore Karijini National Park and to enjoy 2.5 billion years of evolution and 40.000 years of culture. We will visit and hike the gorges, swim in amazing rock pools, stand under waterfalls and explore intriguing rock formations including Hancock Gorge, Weano Gorge and its adventurous Handrail Pool, Dales Gorge, Circular Pool, Fortescue Falls, Fern Pool and more.

Karijini National Park

Karijini

Today we have more time to explore Karijini National Park and to enjoy 2.5 billion years of evolution and 40,000 years of culture. We will visit and hike the gorges, swim in amazing rock pools, stand under waterfalls and explore intriguing rock formations including Hancock Gorge, Weano Gorge and its adventurous Handrail Pool, Dales Gorge, Circular Pool, Fortescue Falls, Fern Pool and more.

Then, late in the day, we will travel further north to Pardoo Roadhouse and check in our tents or swags for a night of camping under the stars.

Broome

Pardoo Road House - Broome

The morning of day 9 sees us arrive at 80 Mile Beach for some awesome photos! When we arrive in Broome we will take you for a tour around town before we check in at our accommodation, The Kimberley Klub Backpackers.

Day 10
Windjana Gorge National Park

Broome - Silent Grove

Hotel: Silent Grove campsite or similar

Departing Broome early today, we'll head east towards the Gibb River Road and arrive at Windjana Gorge in the Napier Ranges for lunch. After lunch we will explore the gorge to view the native birds and resident freshwater crocodiles. On this afternoon we explore Tunnel Creek, an ancient reef system which is said to have existed 350 million years ago – before heading to Silent Grove for our first night at our campsite under the stars.

Bell Gorge

Silent Grove - Mt Elizabeth

Hotel: Mount Elizabeth Station or similar

On day 11, enjoy waking up to the wilderness so very far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. You will explore more of the region’s gorges including Bell, Galvans and Manning. The water levels at the time of your journey will determine which gorges you visit, however each are unique and special in their own right. After a day of walking and swimming in these magnificent natural attractions we will travel to our overnight location of Mount Elizabeth Station.

Emma Gorge

Mt Elizabeth - El Questro

Hotel: El Questro campsite or similar

Heading further east we will explore, swim and hike this amazing part of the world. We will then drive across the Pentacost River and visit the beautiful Emma Gorge before arriving at El Questro for our first of two nights in this outback oasis.

Day 13
El Questro Wildlife Park

Day 13 will allow you to discover some of the one million acres of the El Questro Wilderness Park. We will soak in Zebedee Springs and then visit El Questro Gorge. Continuing your exploration through the many optional activities on offer.

Day 14

El Questro - The Bungle Bungles

Hotel: Echidna Chasm campsite or similar

On this day we will make our way to Purnululu National Park home of the world famous Bungle Bungles. Then in the afternoon we will begin exploring the amazing sandstone formations of Echidna Chasm before giving the 4WD a hard-earned rest and settle into camp for a relaxing evening.

Day 15
Lake Argyle

On the morning of day 15 we will explore Picanninny Creek, The Domes and Cathedral Gorge with plenty of opportunities to take incredible photos of the famous 'beehive' shaped domes. There is also the option to take a helicopter ride over the domes, definitely one to tick off of the bucket list! We will then head towards Kununurra and make camp at the Argyle Tourist Village.

Lake Argyle

Lake Argyle - Victoria River

Hotel: Victoria River campsite. or similar

This morning we explore Australia’s largest man-made lake, Lake Argyle whhere you can choose to take an optional boat cruise. We’ll then visit the Dam Wall and have lunch by the Ord River before we cross the border into the Northern Territory and set up camp at Victoria River.

Darwin

Victoria River - Darwin

Our final day sees us visit one of the Northern Territory’s most stunning areas, Nitmiluk National Park, with its towering cliff walls and meandering waterways. We visit Edith Falls before arriving in Darwin in the early evening.

Special Notes
  • This tour includes hikes up to 8km per day, often requiring some scrambling over uneven terrain. The tour requires a good level of fitness and is recommended for active travelers who want to experience the wild nature of Western Australia. Extreme temperatures can be experienced while traveling in the outback (very hot, very cold, very humid). Please bring a small day pack for use when hiking and a pair of hiking boots is recommended.
  • The Old Swan Barracks, at 2 Francis Street, Northbridge, is the primary point for pick-ups and drop-offs, however pick up is also available at several central locations across the Perth CBD.
    Please include your hotel name and address with your booking.
  • Pick up is between 7:00am-7:30am.
  • Accommodation includes ‘Flashpacker’ services of RAC Parks and Resorts, guaranteeing comfortable, clean rooms, with use of all resort facilities including bars, pool tables and resort pools.
  • Sleeping bags are required for some nights of this trip, and are available for purchase if necessary for $20.00 AUD. Please request when booking.
  • In Karijini National Park we use the ‘Flash-Camper’ services of the Karijini Eco Retreat, staying in their world famous Eco Tents, setup to house bunk beds with comfortable mattresses and clean bedding and blankets, while still enjoying the outdoor camping experience around our camp kitchen and dining area.
  • This tour does not require you to enter water if you do not feel comfortable doing so and choosing to engage in in water activities is a decision you should make based on your own ability and confidence to do so safely.
  • Optional activities that include in water activities (such as Whale Shark Swims) are conducted by trusted 3rd party companies with the necessary skills, experience, qualifications and licences to make sure you are safe, comfortable and having the best experience possible.
  • Strict luggage restrictions apply. 1 Large Piece (preferably a soft bag/backpack) + small carry on bag and no luggage heavier than 15kg. Due to the rough nature of some of the roads we travel on Tours4fun cannot be held liable for any damage caused to luggage that does not meet the above criteria.
  • It is recommended that you bring with you a hat, sunglasses, bathers, 2 towels, water bottle (1L), sunscreen, insect repellent, small torch, warm clothing and rain jacket (winter), sturdy walking shoes, camera with lots of memory and battery.
  • Tours operate with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 16 participants.
  • Tour is teamwork based. In order to make the experience as fun and smooth as possible, it is requested that participants help with the packing/unpacking of the bus, meal preparation, and looking after your own and each other’s safety.
  • Meals are provided at cafes and restaurants, as well as fresh meals prepared by the group. that include hot and cold lunches, hot dinners with salads and vegetables and continental style breakfasts. All dietary requirements can be catered for, including vegetarian, gluten free and other requests. Please advise when booking (a small surcharge may apply). Water and snacks are provided in all vehicles.
